School of Law, Christ (Deemed To Be) University is organizing a Guest Lecture on the topic “Building a Career in Taxation Law”. The lecture is scheduled for 23rd September 2023, from 11:30 a.m. onwards at Central Block Auditorium. The lecture shall focus on mainly 4th and 5th Year Law Students, helping students to understand basic learning on how to build a career in Taxation Law. The seminar will be an enlightening experience that will showcase the vast opportunities available in this field. As taxation laws become more complex, the demand for skilled tax professionals continues to grow. Those aspiring to enter this field should embrace a commitment to learning and ethical practice to thrive in a rewarding career that contributes to the fiscal stability of our society. 

About The Speaker:
Our Guest Speaker for the event is Mr. Shankar Rochlani, an Indirect Tax Professional. He joined Lakshmikumaran & Sridharanas as a senior associate in 2018 and was promoted to principal associate and finally a joint partner in July 2022. Lakshmikumaran & Sridharanas is a full-service law firm based in India. The firm has 14 offices and has over 400 professionals specializing in areas such as corporate & commercial laws, dispute resolution, taxation and intellectual property. Over the last three decades, they worked with a variety of clients – start-ups, small & medium enterprises, large Indian corporates and multinational companies. They have experience of working in both traditional sectors such as commodities, automobile, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and modern sectors such as e-commerce, big data, renewables. Mr. Shankar Rochlani also has one publication on topic “provisions related to valuation under proposed GST law”.
